Republic Releases Nereid Systems and Planetary Data

ORY·255·2325The Exploration and Development Committee (EDC) released its first detailed survey of the Nereid Sector, providing names and initial assessments of its star systems.
Among the discoveries:
Charybdis System – Centered on the barren desert world Abyssis, scarred by ancient seas and riddled with vast cavern networks. OSI noted its orbiting jungle moon, Phoros, is unusually rich in fungal biodiversity, though caution is urged until further analysis is complete.
Stygian System – Telemetry confirmed at least three terrestrial planets. Data remains classified; OSI officials cited “anomalous readings” preventing open publication.
Nautilus System – Limited telemetry suggests unusual orbital mechanics. OSI described it as “one of the strangest system morphologies yet observed.”
“Much of Nereid remains beyond our sensors,” said OSI Director Halden Vey. “We know these worlds exist. What they hold will only be revealed once Tartarus expands to support closer surveys.”
Colonists flooded public forums with speculation, imagining new homesteads on Phoros or wealth beneath Abyssis. Corporations responded with equal enthusiasm, framing Nereid as “a frontier of promise.”
