The United Republic of Orion confirmed today the successful completion of Stage One construction on a massive frontier support station, a project intended to extend humanity’s reach toward the recently charted Nereid Sector.

The announcement, delivered jointly by the Senate’s Exploration and Development Committee and the Department of Defense, was framed as “a triumph of public–private partnership.” Officials credited the collaboration of leading megacorporations, including OrionEX and Cynosure Industrial, for achieving the milestone ahead of schedule.

Stage One includes the establishment of the station’s core superstructure, initial habitation modules, and long-haul docking arms capable of supporting Republic military and civilian traffic. The facility is expected to serve as both a logistics hub and cultural beacon for future expansion into Nereid.

“This station represents more than steel and hull plating,” a Senate spokesperson said. “It is the foundation of humanity’s next chapter. With it, we make the unreachable reachable.”

OrionEX described the achievement as “a bridge to the stars,” while Cynosure praised the “safety-first protocols” integrated into the habitat and life-support systems.

Republic planners noted that subsequent construction phases will expand the station’s industrial capacity, agricultural support systems, and defensive arrays. Officials declined to reveal a completion timeline but reaffirmed their commitment to “steady, responsible progress.”
