The Department of Defense announced recruitment for a joint civilian–military security bureau aboard Tartarus Station.

The new bureau will oversee station law enforcement, customs checks, and emergency readiness. Volunteers from across the Republic are invited to apply, with housing and stipends offered to accepted candidates.

“This is an opportunity for ordinary citizens to safeguard humanity’s future,” said a Defense spokesperson. “Together, we will keep Tartarus secure, lawful, and welcoming.”

Local commentators note that the move signals growing unease over the influx of freighters, contractors, and migrants. Cynics argue that the bureau exists as much to protect corporate assets as it does public safety.
